Eleven bar named.
Brindleyplace's latest bar and restaurant, set to open in the near future, will be named Nuvo. The winning name was chosen following an online competition run in conjunction with professional organisations Birmingham Future and Birmingham Forward to find a name for the landmark bar.
Nuvo is a combination of two entries - Nucleus and Novu - submitted by Lisa Clark of HBJ Gateley Waring LLP and Bryan Manley of Alchemy Translations. The entries combine to form a play on the word 'nouveau' which means something new, exciting and different.
Announced at Birmingham Future's recent AGM, held last Thursday at Eleven Brindleyplace, the building within which the new bar and restaurant will be situated, Nuvo was selected after much deliberation by the bar’s owners Chris and Cos Papachristoforou and members of Argent, the company behind Brindleyplace.
"The Brindleyplace estate is a firm favourite among city professionals for both business and socialising and the opportunity to name our latest bar and restaurant was something we wanted to give back to that community," commented Gary Taylor, joint managing director for Argent. "Over 100 competition entries were received and their originality and diversity certainly reflected the degree of creative minds we have working in Birmingham."
