Colliers International expands Birmingham office
The Midlands office of Colliers International has substantially expanded its office space in the region.
A year after relocating to 5,600 sq ft of bespoke office space within Eleven Brindleyplace, the company has exercised a lease option to accommodate all 8,645 sq ft of the landmark building's 12th floor.
The expansion follows a sustained period of growth for Colliers International following its move to Eleven Brindleyplace, which has seen the Midlands team increase from 60 to 80 people through the development of its corporate recovery, valuation, investment property management, planning and rating services. In April, this necessitated the company taking a further 1,100 sq ft of space before expanding across the entire floor plate earlier this month.
David Smeeton, Colliers International head in Birmingham commented: "Moving to Eleven Brindleyplace has completely changed our business. Since relocating we have grown at a phenomenal pace and have expanded across the floorplate four years ahead of our original growth plan. Argent's supportive and flexible approach to leasing has proven a huge bonus given our rapid requirement for additional space and its onsite presence has proven a great asset in facilitating our growth.
"Having the entire Midlands team located on the same floor has vastly improved internal communications. This, combined with the opportunity to network with the wider Brindleyplace business community has reaped benefits for the company. In the current market our consistent growth speaks volumes about the drive and determination of the Midlands team and being located within such a modern environment has certainly contributed towards our ambitious outlook."
Gary Taylor, joint managing director of Argent (UK Developments) Ltd added: "We are delighted that moving to Eleven Brindleyplace has had such a positive impact on Colliers International. Our flexible approach to leasing here has enabled us to support the growth of the business with minimum disruption to office operations. To have one of the city's leading property and real estate consultancies speak so highly of Eleven Brindleyplace is a huge compliment and we are delighted that the building has the capacity to support existing tenants, while also offering unique accommodation opportunities to future occupiers."
Situated opposite City Inn on the Brindleyplace estate existing tenants of Eleven Brindleyplace include Argent, Friend LLP and Robert Walters. The Institute of Directors West Midlands' regional office and Hub is based on Eleven Brindleyplace's mezzanine level adjacent to landlord Argent's office. IoD members benefit from the use of the building's innovative Meetingspace facilities - a state of the art suite of internally managed meeting rooms, complete with a first class business lounge.
A range of floor plate configurations are currently available within the award winning, BREEAM 'Excellent' building which offers floor to ceiling glazing providing a wealth of natural light and panoramic views across the Birmingham cityscape. This abundance of daylight provides increased flexibility in space planning, ensuring all employees benefit from a light, bright and inspiring office environment.
Tenants of the building also have use of Meetingspace which offers state of the art meeting room facilities including a stylish business lounge, providing the perfect environment for greeting clients, holding meetings and hosting corporate events.
