BREEAM Excellence.
The first building to achieve BREEAM Excellence at Brindleyplace, Eleven Brindleyplace will be the lasting legacy of Argent's commitment to sustainability on the estate. Argent is confident that the sustainable design of the building, which ranges from a brown roof planted to attract wildlife, to the brise soleil solar shading which creates the building's unique external elevations, will not only attract companies seeking to tick their CSR boxes and lower their running costs, but will also have the knock on positive effect of providing employees with added pride in their workplace.
Supporting Eleven Brindleyplace's sustainability rating, Argent has also set the estate as a whole the target of diverting 70 percent of waste from landfill by 2010. The company has put the waste contract for Brindleyplace out to tender and is currently seeking a green contractor who can work with the estate to help Argent and its tenants achieve this 60 per cent rise in recycling within the year.
"Achieving BREEAM Excellence at Eleven Brindleyplace has once again pushed the boundaries of the estate and when we have a contractor onboard to help us meet our 70 per cent target, I'm confident Brindleyplace will become the greenest mixed-use development within the city," commented Gary Taylor, joint managing director of Argent (UK Developments). "The unwavering and enthusiastic support of our tenants has set a real precedent here for waste management and one which has the potential to gain Brindleyplace national recognition, as a beacon for the level of sustainability that can be achieved through landlord and tenant partnership."
